Zhor Fassi-Fihri

Zhor Fassi-Fihri is an independent Moroccan producer and director, renowned for her significant impact on the audiovisual production industry. After studying at the Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français, she honed her skills at Canal+ in France and went on to launch a news channel dedicated to Africa in Paris.

Since returning to Morocco in 2015, Zhor founded Z Films, a company specializing in the production of fiction, TV series, commercials, and corporate films. She has worked with major advertisers such as Maroc Telecom and INWI, and has built strong collaborations with international producers.

She served as executive producer for the Dutch film DE Mooiste Dag and for the French version of Love is Blind on Netflix. Following these projects, she also collaborated as executive producer with renowned production companies such as Fremantle, M6, and La Grosse Équipe, contributing to various productions shot in Morocco.

Recently, Zhor directed and co-produced the feature film The Moderator, starring Hollywood actors Robert Knepper and Gary Dourdan. The film addresses women’s rights and sexual misconduct, and was released in July 2022 in the United States. It is now available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime.

Zhor also completed production on Autisto, a film directed by Jérôme Cohen-Olivar about autism. She is currently developing The Man of Signs, a film inspired by the life of painter Mehdi Qotbi, with shooting scheduled for April 2025.

In addition to producing, Zhor wrote the screenplay for The Man of Signs. She continues to develop several projects across Morocco, France, and the United States, including upcoming films by Jérôme Cohen-Olivar: The Reaching and The Falling.

Dedicated to supporting young talent, Zhor contributes each year to the production of a short film or music video. This year, the short film Paraboles, directed by Hiba Baddou, received multiple awards at festivals and won the Art for Change prize at the Saatchi Gallery.

Zhor Fassi-Fihri continues to build loyal and lasting partnerships both nationally and internationally—with public investment funds, financial partners, TV channels, distributors, and other producers—further cementing her role as a leader in the film and television industry.
