Jérôme Cohen-Olivar

Director, Screenwriter, and Producer

Jérôme Cohen-Olivar, a passionate director and producer, spent much of his childhood in Morocco, where he began making films on Super 8 mm. His journey led him to Los Angeles, where he pursued his studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute.

His first short film, Susan Susan, a sharp satire on illegal immigration in the United States, caught the attention of Disney, which acquired the rights for nearly $300,000. His next work, Cool Crime, a dark comedy featuring a gang of ghosts wandering through Los Angeles, premiered at the Palm Springs Film Festival, earning him representation by the prestigious talent agency CAA.

In 2008, Jérôme directed Kandisha, a fantasy film inspired by the 14th-century Moroccan legend of Aïsha Kandisha. In 2015, he released The Midnight Orchestra, a widely acclaimed film that celebrates Moroccan values and culture. More recently, he directed Autisto, produced by Z Films.

As a key member of Z Films, Jérôme contributes to the development of fiction and international executive productions, enhances screenplays, and advises the company on artistic direction.
